# DDoS Protection

> DDoS Protection networks, profiles, announces, and event logs.

Put a network under protection, select the rules that drop traffic, and read what was blocked.

The base URL is `https://api.gcore.com/security/iaas`.

## Networks

* [Protected networks](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/protected-networks/list-protected-networks.md) — register a network, turn protection on, and redeploy it
* [BGP announces](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/bgp-announces/list-bgp-announces.md) — control which protected addresses are announced over BGP

## Rules that drop traffic

An account can activate its own rule set. A protected network uses a different rule set, built from a different starting configuration.

* [Profiles](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/profiles/get-profiles.md) — create the account rule set and turn it on
* [Templates](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/templates/get-profile-templates.md) — the prepared configuration an account rule set is copied from
* [Protection profiles](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/protection-profiles/list-protection-profiles.md) — the rule set applied to a protected network
* [Protection templates](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/protection-templates/list-protection-templates.md) — the prepared configuration a network rule set is copied from

## Blocked traffic

* [Event logs](https://docs.gcore.com/api-reference/ddos-protection/event-logs/event-logs-clients-view.md) — read a protection event and its detail
