# Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP)

BYOIP allows customers to use their own public IP address ranges with Gcore infrastructure. This capability helps preserve IP reputation, maintain existing allowlists, and support consistent network addressing during workload migrations to Gcore.

## Benefits

Organizations migrating workloads to Gcore can use BYOIP to preserve their existing network identity:

* Retain ownership of public IP ranges
* Preserve IP reputation and existing allowlists
* Avoid renumbering services when migrating to Gcore
* Avoid reconfiguring systems that depend on specific IP addresses
* Migrate workloads to Gcore while maintaining network identity

## Onboarding checklist

Before submitting a BYOIP request, prepare the following:

* A Letter of Authorization (LOA) permitting Gcore to announce the IP prefix
* A Route Object registered in an Internet Routing Registry (IRR) with the appropriate Regional Internet Registry (RIR)
* A valid RPKI ROA authorizing route announcements
* The CIDR prefix of the IP range to announce

The organization must own the IP prefix and have it registered with a Regional Internet Registry.

## ASN options

IP prefixes can be announced using either:

* Gcore ASN — Gcore announces the prefixes on the customer's behalf
* Customer ASN (BYOASN) — Retains control over route announcements

Using a customer-owned ASN may be beneficial for maintaining routing reputation and greater control over traffic policies.

## Request BYOIP

To request BYOIP or get details about onboarding IP ranges, contact the [sales team](https://gcore.com/contact-sales).

The sales team will validate the required routing information and coordinate the onboarding process.
