# Colocation

Gcore Colocation places customer-owned servers and network hardware in enterprise-grade data centers. It combines the reliability of facilities certified at Tier II and above with direct access to Gcore's global network and built-in DDoS protection, with 24/7 on-site technical support included in every plan.

## Rack options

Three configurations are available: rack unit and full rack can be ordered directly, while private cages are available on request for larger enterprise deployments.

| Option       | Space                                     | Committed power |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------- | --------------- |
| Rack unit    | 1 to 10U in a shared rack                 | 500 W per unit  |
| Full rack    | 1 dedicated rack                          | 5 kW            |
| Private cage | Multiple racks in a custom enclosed space | Custom |

<Info>
  A rack unit (U) equals 1.75 inches (44.45 mm); power is expressed in watts (W) or kilowatts (kW).
</Info>

Rack unit and full rack options have standard [pricing](https://gcore.com/colocation), while private cages are priced per deployment.

## Included services

Whatever the rack configuration, every plan includes the same set of services regardless of location.

### Power and cooling

Each rack runs on redundant power at the committed capacity, with active cooling managed by the data center facility. Customers who exceed their committed power allocation are charged an overcommit fee.

### Network connectivity

The network connection is equally central to the service. Equipment connects directly to Gcore's global low-latency network, built for content delivery and high-performance applications, with high-bandwidth internet access included at every location. Additional connectivity services (Direct Internet Access, Cross-Connects, and Leased Lines) are available as [separate add-ons](/colocation/connectivity).

### DDoS protection

The same network connection carries built-in DDoS protection. Gcore routes traffic through its own scrubbing infrastructure before it reaches the equipment, a native capability included at no additional cost.

### On-site technical support

Alongside network and security services, Gcore maintains on-site technical staff 24/7 for remote hands, hardware troubleshooting, racking and stacking, and emergency response. The [Smart Hands](/colocation/smart-hands) service extends this into more complex paid work: hardware installation, component replacement, diagnostics, and cable management.

## Billing model

Rack space and power form the base billing, both charged monthly. Space is priced by type and location, with power committed at a fixed capacity per rack; usage beyond that allocation incurs an overcommit fee. Smart Hands and connectivity are optional add-ons, billed separately based on usage.

Current rates are published at gcore.com/colocation; the [sales team](https://gcore.com/contact-sales) can provide a quote specific to the location and configuration.

## Data center tiers

The infrastructure behind these services is the physical data center itself. Gcore colocates in facilities certified at Tier II and above under the Uptime Institute standard, including the same Tier III and Tier IV sites used for Gcore's own mission-critical infrastructure.

| Tier     | Uptime  | Redundancy model               |
| -------- | ------- | ------------------------------ |
| Tier II  | 99.741% | Redundant capacity components  |
| Tier III | 99.982% | N+1 concurrent maintainability |
| Tier IV  | 99.995% | 2N fully fault-tolerant        |

Tier III facilities provide concurrent maintainability, meaning hardware can be serviced without taking the system offline. Tier IV adds full fault tolerance, meaning any single component failure does not interrupt operations.
