# How storage is billed

Gcore Object Storage pricing is based on the amount of data stored, outgoing traffic, and API request volume. S3 Standard and SFTP use GB-based pricing; S3 Fast uses GiB-based pricing, where 1 GiB = 1.074 GB.

### S3 Standard

General-purpose storage for most workloads.

S3 Standard offers discounted self-commit plans for 5 TB and 20 TB commitments, available in any S3 Standard location. Committed-volume rates are listed on the [pricing page](https://gcore.com/pricing/cloud).

SFTP storage uses the same pricing model as S3 Standard — the same rates for storage, egress, ingress, and requests.

### S3 Fast

High-performance storage optimized for AI/ML workloads, IoT telemetry, and latency-sensitive applications, available in Sines-2, Sines-3, and London-2.

## Billing and subscriptions

Subscription fees and traffic overcommitment charges are billed on the 2nd day of each month; if payment fails, the service is suspended. Additional features are charged at the beginning of the month.

To change a storage plan, contact support via chat or email at [support@gcore.com](mailto:support@gcore.com). The new plan takes effect on the 1st day of the following month.
